Requirements and notes for the tour
  • Travel Documents
    Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity).
    Visa (if required – many nationalities are visa-free for Kyrgyzstan).
    Digital and printed copies of important documents (passport, insurance, etc.).
  • Flexibility & Adventure
    This is an adventure-style cultural tour with varied terrain and basic facilities in some areas.
    Weather, roadblocks, or local conditions may occasionally require itinerary changes.
    Your local guide will ensure the safest and most rewarding route possible.
  • Clothing & Equipment
    Layered clothing: temperatures vary greatly between valleys and mountains.
    Windbreaker/rain jacket, fleece or thermal wear.
    Comfortable hiking shoes (water-resistant preferred).
    Sun protection: sunglasses, hat, sunscreen (UV is stronger at altitude).
    Swimsuit for Issyk-Kul Lake or hot springs.
    Small backpack, reusable water bottle, personal medications.
    Power bank and adapter (Kyrgyzstan uses European 220V sockets).
  • Physical Condition & Suitability
    Moderate fitness level required for light hiking and high-altitude travel.
    Children aged 5+ can join, but families with young kids must discuss with the guide in advance.
    Not recommended for travelers with serious heart or respiratory issues due to high-altitude segments (up to 3,200 m at Son-Kul and passes).

    Summer (June–September): Mostly dry, with warm days and cool nights.
    Mountain areas (Son-Kul, Suusamyr, Jeti-Ögüz) can drop to 0–5°C at night.
    Sudden weather changes are possible in high altitudes – pack accordingly.

    Respect local customs, especially in villages and when visiting nomadic families.
    Dress modestly in conservative areas (e.g., villages, religious sites).
    Always ask before photographing locals.
  • Accommodation Standards

    Yurts are traditional, cozy, and shared (2–4 people). Toilet and shower facilities may be basic or shared in mountain areas.

    Local meals provided daily (mostly home-cooked or in local cafés).
    Vegetarian options are available but must be requested in advance.
    Special dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free) may be difficult to fully accommodate in remote areas.
