Today, escape into the mountains at Ala Archa National Park, just an hour drive from Bishkek.
Take an easy hike to the Ala Archa Waterfall or, for experienced trekkers, hike toward the Racek Hut (optional, for experienced hikers only) for panoramic mountain views. The alpine meadows, fresh air, and rushing rivers make this day a perfect start to your adventure.

Drive through the heart of the Tien Shan mountains, crossing the Too Ashuu Pass (3,200 m) and the scenic Suusamyr Valley. Continue through the Chychkan Gorge, with dramatic cliffs and turquoise rivers. In the afternoon, drive to the starting point of the hike and enjoy a 5 km walk to the scenic Belek Waterfall in Chychkan Gorge.
Arrive at Toktogul Reservoir, where you can relax, take a swim, or enjoy a peaceful evening by the lake.

After breakfast, drive to the Kyzyl Oy village. Journey along a mountain road to Kyzyl-Oi, a charming red-soil village tucked deep in the valley. Visit the Kojomkul Museum, dedicated to the famous Kyrgyz giant and hero.
Along the Kokomeren River, explore abandoned mountain villages and enjoy the quiet beauty of rural Kyrgyz life.

Ascend to the legendary Son-Kul Lake (3,016 m) via Kara Keche Pass, surrounded by dramatic landscapes and scenic views of the Kara-Keche highland area.
Arrive at your yurt camp on the open grasslands — home to nomadic shepherds. Enjoy optional horseback riding or visit herders’ families, and watch the sunset over the vast alpine lake.

Descend from the highlands through Kalmak-Ashuu Pass (3,447m) with a possible stop in Kochkor village to visit a traditional felt-making workshop, where you will have the opportunity to purchase handicrafts from local artisans. Continue to Bokonbaeva, on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, the “Pearl of Kyrgyzstan.” Meet a local eagle hunter for a private demonstration of this ancient nomadic art. Spend the evening swimming and relaxing by the lake.

Travel along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, visiting the surreal Skazka (Fairy Tale) Canyon and the red cliffs of Jeti Oguz. Continue to Aksuu Gorge to change vehicles, then switch to a Soviet-era all-terrain vehicle (vahtovka) for a bumpy rough road yet beautiful ride up to Altyn Arashan Valley, famous for its natural hot springs (included) and alpine scenery.

Today you explore the stunning alpine landscapes around Ala-Kul Lake. You will hike on foot or, optionally, ride horses part of the way, following mountain trails through meadows and rocky slopes.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the high peaks and the turquoise waters of Ala-Kul before returning back to Altyn Arashan for a relaxing evening.

Descend from Altyn Arashan and drive to Karakol, where you’ll visit the colorful Dungan Mosque, the Orthodox Church, and have a delicious lunch in a charming city of Karakol.
Then cross the Kegen border ( passport control can take around 1 hour ) into Kazakhstan and continue to Saty Village, located in Kolsay Lakes National Park. Short walk in Saty Village in the evening.
