Requirements and notes for the tour
  • Requirements
    • Valid Passport (minimum 6 months before expiry)
    • Visa for Kazakhstan (not required for many nationalities for Kyrgyzstan; check your eligibility)
    • Travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation
    • Basic fitness for hiking (moderate to challenging hikes on Day 2 and Day 8)
    • Cash in local currency (KGS/KZT) for small purchases in remote areas
  • Important Notes
    • Altitude: Some locations, especially Son Kul and Ala Kul, are above 3,000m – acclimatization is important.
    • Weather: Be prepared for varying climates – warm days and cold nights, especially in high-altitude regions.
    • Accommodation: Mix of hotels, local guesthouses, and traditional yurt camps. Shared bathrooms in some locations.
    • Connectivity: Limited phone signal and internet in mountain valleys like Altyn Arashan and Son Kul.
    • Packing Tips: Waterproof jacket, layered clothing, hiking shoes, personal medications, swimwear (for Issyk-Kul and hot springs).
