Important Travel Notes
Your journey starts here
  • 🏔 Altitude
When you’ll reach up to 3,000 m — move slowly, drink more water, avoid alcohol first day.
  • 🕰 Electricity
220 V, European plugs (type C or F). Some yurt camps may have limited electricity at night.
  • 🚗 Road conditions
Mix of paved and gravel roads; expect long drives with scenic photo stops.
  • 🍽 Food
Local cuisine, mostly meat and dairy. Vegetarian meals available if requested in advance.
  • 🛖 Accommodation
Combination of hotels, guesthouses, and yurts. Yurt stays are cozy but basic — shared bathrooms and limited and pre-informed hot water.
  • 📶 Signal
Mobile coverage is weak or absent in high-mountain areas.
  • 💧 Water
Bottled or boiled water is recommended.
  • 💬 Language
Guides speak English; locals mostly speak Kyrgyz and Russian.
  • 💰 Tips
Not mandatory but appreciated (guides/drivers usually 10 USD/day).
Gifts for Local Families
During your journey, you’ll have the chance to stay with welcoming local families and experience real Kyrgyz hospitality.
We recommend bringing small presents for them — especially for the children. Simple gifts like sweets, school supplies, or small toys are always appreciated.
If you wish, we can provide details about each family — how many children they have and their ages — so you can prepare something personal and meaningful.
You may also share some of your clothes or useful items you no longer need. These small gestures of kindness often create heartfelt connections and unforgettable memories for both you and the locals.
