Too Ashuu Pass

Location: It’s on the Bishkek-Osh highway (European route E010), in the Kyrgyz Ala-Too (Alatau) part of the Tien Shan mountains.
Elevation: About 3,585-3,600 metres above sea level.
Tunnel: There is a long tunnel built to avoid the highest part of the pass. It helps vehicles bypass the most extreme slopes.
This makes it an important transit route between northern and southern Kyrgyzstan.
The road has steep hairpin turns, especially on its slopes, which can be demanding for drivers.
There is a ski resort on the south side of the pass.
In winter or heavy snow, the pass can become dangerous. There have been times where traffic jams formed due to snow, and authorities restricted passage for vehicles not equipped for winter (e.g. without winter tires).
There are periodic measures for road maintenance, avalanche control, etc.

Bishkek - the capital of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek is the capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan, located in the north of the country near the Kyrgyz Ala-Too Mountains. It stands at about 800 meters above sea level and serves as the main cultural, economic, and political center of Kyrgyzstan.
The city is known for its wide tree-lined streets, Soviet-era architecture, and beautiful parks. Major attractions include Ala-Too Square, Osh Bazaar, the State Historical Museum, and nearby Ala-Archa National Park, which is just a 40-minute drive away.
Bishkek is also famous for its friendly atmosphere, local markets, and vibrant café culture, making it a perfect starting point for any journey through Kyrgyzstan.

Konorchek Canyon

Konorchek Canyons are located in the eastern part of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too range, in Chüy Region.
They lie roughly 120-140 km east of Bishkek, along the Bishkek → Issyk-Kul highway, in the Boom Gorge section.
Access is via a small red bridge (“Red Bridge” / “Krasnaya Rechka”) sign, off the main road.
The canyons are carved in red sandstone and clay (Paleogene period) that have been sculpted by wind, water, erosion, and geological fissures over millions of years.
There are dramatic shapes: cliffs, towers, columns, domes, ridges. Some formations are named: Castle Rock, Bobsleigh Canyon, Grand Canyon among others.
Some canyon walls reach hundreds of meters in height (up to ~300 m).
Other Natural FeaturesAn extinct volcano named Segizhan Shokny (age about 2.5-3 million years) is nearby and visible.
There are sometimes very narrow passages in the canyon, where cliffs come very close together.
Climate & VegetationClimate is arid: very hot and dry in summer; winters are cold but with little or no snow.
