After arriving in Osh, the gateway to the Pamirs and one of the oldest Silk Road cities in Central Asia, travelers meet the expedition team and begin the legendary overland journey toward the towering Pamir Mountains.
The road gradually climbs through dramatic mountain valleys, remote nomadic settlements, and panoramic alpine landscapes of southern Kyrgyzstan. Along the way, travelers witness traditional yurt camps, grazing yaks, and the authentic rhythm of mountain life far from the modern world.
By afternoon, the expedition reaches the spectacular Lenin Peak Base Camp near Tulpar-Kol Lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and vast alpine scenery. The peaceful atmosphere of the high mountains creates the perfect setting for acclimatization, photography, and the first true feeling of the Pamir adventure.

A full day is dedicated to exploring the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Lenin Peak, one of the most iconic mountains in Central Asia.
After breakfast, travelers enjoy light trekking through alpine meadows, glacier viewpoints, and pristine high-altitude terrain with spectacular panoramic views over the Pamir Mountains. The region offers exceptional opportunities for photography, soft hiking, and experiencing authentic nomadic life.
Optional activities include horseback riding, visiting local shepherd families, or relaxing near Tulpar-Kol Lake while enjoying the silence and isolation of the mountains. A second overnight in traditional yurts allows travelers to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of high-altitude Pamir life.

Today the expedition officially joins the legendary Pamir Highway route and crosses into Tajikistan through some of the most remote mountain landscapes in Central Asia.
The road climbs toward the high-altitude Kyzyl-Art Pass (4,300 m), where travelers cross the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and enter the dramatic landscapes of the Eastern Pamirs. Endless mountain plateaus, isolated valleys, and surreal high-altitude scenery create one of the most unforgettable driving days of the journey.
By evening, the route reaches the spectacular Karakul Lake, a remote alpine lake surrounded by vast mountain panoramas and traditional Pamiri villages. Sunset over Karakul often becomes one of the visual highlights of the entire expedition.

The journey continues deeper into the remote heart of the Pamirs.
Today travelers cross the legendary Ak-Baital Pass (4,655 m), the highest drivable point on the Pamir Highway and one of the highest international roads in the world. The route passes through dramatic high-altitude deserts, colorful alpine lakes, and endless open valleys shaped by wind and extreme mountain conditions.
Along the way, travelers explore isolated regions near Bulunkul and Yashilkul Lakes, where the landscapes feel almost untouched by time. Arrival in Murghab — the highest town in Tajikistan — offers a rare glimpse into daily life in one of the most remote mountain communities in Central Asia.

One of the most spectacular and culturally rich days of the expedition.
The route descends from the high-altitude deserts of the Eastern Pamirs into the legendary Wakhan Valley, following the Panj River along the border with Afghanistan. Throughout the drive, travelers can observe remote Afghan villages located directly across the river, creating one of the most unique border landscapes in the world.
The expedition visits the ancient Yamchun Fortress overlooking the Wakhan Corridor, as well as the famous Bibi Fatima hot springs hidden among the mountains. The Wakhan region offers deep insight into Pamiri traditions, Silk Road history, and authentic mountain hospitality.

The expedition continues westward through deep mountain gorges, dramatic river valleys, and remote Pamiri settlements.
Today’s drive follows the Panj River with constantly changing landscapes and countless opportunities for photography and cultural encounters. Travelers pass isolated villages, traditional stone houses, and mountain communities where daily life has changed little for generations.
As the route gradually descends from the high-altitude Pamirs toward greener western valleys, the scenery transforms dramatically before arrival in Kalaikhum for overnight rest.
